BBD Builders is a design-build company focused on custom homes in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. We work with homeowners who want to build something personal and are looking for a team that will guide them through the process from the very beginning.
Our approach brings design and construction together under one team, so every decision is made with the full picture in mind — from land and layout to finishes and final details. Instead of juggling a separate architect, designer and builder, you work with one team that stays aligned from start to finish.

BBD Builders is led by a team with decades of combined experience in residential construction, remodeling and design. We stay personally involved in every project we take on, working directly with our clients from the early planning stages through the final details.
General Contractor
Ryan O’Brochta
Ryan brings over 25 years of experience in project management, operations and large-scale construction, and now focuses on residential construction and remodeling through BBD Builders and Beauty by Design. Over the past several years, he and his wife and business partner, Christy, have grown Beauty by Design into a multi-million dollar design-build company, completing projects for more than 100 homeowners.
Ryan oversees the construction side of BBD Builders and takes a very hands-on approach to each project. He is actively involved from the first conversation through the final walkthrough, spending time on site, coordinating trades and making sure every part of the project is done the right way.
Clients know Ryan for his organization, reliability and clear communication throughout the building process. With his background in large, complex projects, he understands how important planning, scheduling and communication are to keeping a project on track and reducing stress for the homeowner.
For Ryan, building a home is more than just a project. He sees it as a responsibility and takes pride in delivering homes that are built with care, built to last and built in a way he can stand behind long after the project is finished.

John Wade
John has been building homes in the southwest suburbs for over 40 years and has built more than 275 homes during his career. He is known for his craftsmanship, attention to detail and the long-term relationships he builds with his clients.
Over the years, many families have trusted John to build not just one home, but multiple homes, which speaks to the level of care and quality he brings to each project. His experience is especially valuable during the planning and construction phases, where his knowledge helps the team make smart decisions early and keep projects moving in the right direction.
John takes great pride in delivering homes that are built well, built to last and built the right way, and he plays an important role in making sure every BBD Builders project meets that standard.
Lead Designer
Christy O’BrocHta
With over 10 years of experience, Christy has helped hundreds of homeowners build or renovate their homes, from the early planning stages all the way to the final finishing details.
Her focus is on helping clients make decisions with confidence and making sure the home feels cohesive from the big picture down to the small details. She enjoys working on all aspects of new construction, including layout development, flooring, tile, cabinetry and lighting, and is especially good at helping clients narrow down options so the process doesn’t feel overwhelming.
Christy is known for really getting to know her clients so she can understand their style and help bring a vision to life, even when they’re not quite sure how to describe what they want yet. Because she also understands the construction side of the process, she’s able to think ahead during the design phase, helping the team avoid potential issues and keep projects running smoothly.
She is well known for her work throughout the south suburbs, where she worked closely with John Wade and Tony Hegarty as the designer, selections coordinator and project manager for the Clover Ridge and Waterford Pointe developments.

We intentionally take on a limited number of projects so we can stay involved and accessible throughout the build. When you work with BBD Builders, you’ll see us on site, hear from us regularly and know that we’re paying attention to the details.
